  • Global ranking (Average Pollution): #20 least polluted nation. (IQ Air – Costa Rica)
  • Most polluted region: San Jose Province| AQI = Ranges from an average in the low 30s (Good) early in the day to the mid-50s (moderate) later in the day and evening.  ( RicaReal Time)
  • Least polluted region: Alajuela Province & Heredia Province | AQI = 8 – Very Good (Air Matters/ Rica).
