A Letter from the Virus, by Darinka Montico is a striking perspective of humanity from the view of nature as told in captivating detail by Italian native, blogger and global explorer Darinka Montico. Darinka’s narrative of what the virus would say to humans is based on realistic evolution of human society out of respect for and understanding of all nature.
Darinka says she has traveled to every corner of the world, except for the Arctic and Antarctica, to follow her dreams that she has expressed through traveling, writing and photography. After deciding it was time for a change in her life, she started her own project. She said:
“I walked 3,000 km from the very bottom of Italy to the top, with a diary, a camera, no money and a box in which I collected people’s dreams. I called it Walkaboutitalia. The performance of Walkabout was a search of what’s left of our deepest desires in a society that struggles to monopolize everything, even fantasies. Walkabout was an expedition in search of trust and solidarity, a journey among the external and internal landscape of my country and its people.”
She speaks five languages: English, Italian, French, Spanish and Lao (Laotian).
Her video captures the essence of humanity with compassion and understanding, in hopes that all people can embrace.
