Meet the Syracuse U – iConsult Team

The Co-Founding R&D Team for Ecology Prime™

The iConsult Collaborative at Syracuse University – College of Professional Studies teamed up with Ecology Prime™ in January 2023 to engage the acquisition and verification of vital statistics related to the ecology of all countries worldwide for Ecology Prime’s Destinations platform. The Team also provides IT support for publishing vital Earth data for Ecology Prime™ Pulse of the Planet and related Destinations applications.

Today, this collaboration has matured into a full, symbiotic professional working alliance between iConsult and their specially selected student teams and Ecology Prime™ leadership to present one of the world’s most authoritative and dynamic platforms for ecological engagement and learning for all people.

iConsult Collaborative is a university-wide program at Syracuse University to build experience for both graduate and undergraduate students through real-world client projects involving digital transformation. iConsult provides the opportunity to involve students from multiple schools and colleges within the University in cross-functional project teams. These teams work on a broad range of live projects leading toward the digital transformation of clients in several business sectors.

iConsult brings its commitment to learning and intellectual diversity to Ecology Prime™ and its many other clients as a community of scholars and practitioners.  The relationship between iConsult and Ecology Prime™ is perfectly aligned in support of career development for the students, adept content for Ecology Prime™, and the data’s ultimate benefit of and usefulness to the Ecology Prime™ worldwide userbase.

How They Do It….

iConsult hires team leaders who oversee direction and efficiency of operations for the projects it engages. The iConsult Collaborative Team Leaders for Spring 2024 are pictured above.

iConsult appoints a dedicated team of graduate and undergraduate students, overseen by a specially-appointed Team Leader, primarily to work directly with the Ecology Prime™ team and senior management to execute the highly disciplined task of providing authoritative research and indigenous information about each country. The collaboration extends beyond data research and assessment to presenting the collective data in a highly engaging, entertaining and easily understood ways for all people, including students, teachers, consumers and businesses throughout the world.

The students selected by the iConsult program work in teams that represent the specialty domains of the schools and colleges of Syracuse University. Each iConsult team works under the direction of faculty mentors and a student Project Manager who oversees the relationship and deliverables. 

The objective of this program is for countries and regions on the planet to have a home on the Ecology Prime™ platform for all people everywhere to engage, take in, know, feel and appreciate the ecological essence of places on Earth and how everyone is connected. When a student team takes on a Destination, they immerse themselves as residents of the country in order to present it as the people who live there experience it every day. They connect with local residents and resources to ensure this takes place, designed to eventually create a physical homebase for the Destination right there.

Dr. Thomas is the Director of the iConsult Collaborative at Syracuse University, an experiential learning program he began leading in 2012, where university students are engaged with client organizations in a diverse portfolio of information-related projects. A specialist in public-private projects, Art helped to bring about the Syracuse Digital Innovation Alliance in 2019, a unique collaboration among Microsoft, Syracuse City, Onondaga County and the iSchool, organized to accelerate the implementation of Smart City and Smart Campus technologies in Central New York.  He is also the co-founder and faculty director of Nanhi Kali, the 2018 SU Orange Circle Award winning student organization that annually sponsors education for over 50 underprivileged little girls in India through the Mahindra Trust.

Tejas is a Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) student at Syracuse University who joined the EP-iConsult Team in early 2023 as a primary researcher for EP’s Spain Destination after which he initiated the Destination for Saudi Arabia. He was appointed as the program manager to lead the Ecology Prime™ Team for the Fall 2024 semester based on his appropriate skill set and management organization. He is currently leading a team of a dozen other Master’s students in Information Systems and Computer Science in authoritative research, visualized data resourcing and publishing new global Destinations as well as maintaining the current database for all published statistics and related information.
